Serenade

Serenade

Last week, we had a trip to Cebu to attend my niece’s wedding. I’m so thankful to God that it was such a success. After the wedding rites, we went to a hilly place, overlooking the city, where the reception was held.

We really enjoyed the dinner, and especially the program, some parts of it are the usual cake cutting and wine drinking. But what was surprising was the part where the bride and groom sang for the guests. The groom played the guitar while the bride sang. It was actually the part where the guests put their little money envelopes inside glass jars.

The idea about serenading the guests while they troop to the money jars was a good one since the groom can play the guitar. It’s nice to note that the guitar had a good sound, I bet it was a quality product just like those bought from Guitar Center online (http://guitarcenter.com/). The serenade was an alternative to the usual “money dance” during weddings, where the guests dance with the bride and pin money to her gown. I’m sure the serenade idea would have been difficult to do if he can’t play the guitar, or maybe they will just hire somebody to play.
