The phrase ‘new horizons’ is what I would always write on top of the page of my journal whenever I have some personal goals to list. I would also draw a three-lined rainbow beside the phrase. This practice started way back in college when I was a struggling freshman and until now whenever I’m writing down some things to do and outlining an upcoming project.
Personally, these two words bring hope – ‘new’ represents change and the eagerness to move on to something better while ‘horizon’ means going beyond where I am now and extending my vision further from what I see in the present.
As the year 2008 begins, I am moving on to new and better horizons.
