Hello Parañaque! Last week was pretty hectic. We attended a two-day convention for workers in our prayer community and last Thursday was allocated for the youth. They had a great time with inputs from our community leaders and there was a concert AKA praise jam in the evening.
One of our youth leaders who attended the one-day youth convention was a bit sad that there were only three representatives from our province. He vowed to bring more youth delegates for next year’s convention along with their musical instruments so they can also present a number during the evening concert. It’s good that he’s already thinking of activities for next year, and I’m pretty sure the preparation includes fund raising for air tickets and accommodation and especially the upgrade of musical instruments.
Preparation for music festivals requires a lot of expertise and budget. You need to decide whether to purchase a brand new korg volca at musicians friend, or refurbish an old set. Another thing is preparing the set of songs for the concert, what musical style is appropriate and which songs can be comfortably played according to their level of musical skills. Of course, there are still so many other things to prepare, and I just pray that a major project such as this will push through, with more youth delegates getting involved in our community to keep them busy with meaningful activities while growing up.
