musicians on stage at the Pori Jazz Festival

On music festivals and events

Special occasions and events can be such a challenge to coordinate, particularly if these involve a large number of guests and attendees. Business conferences, clan reunions, musical concerts and shows are just examples of such events that require so much planning and preparation.

I remember when we were in Finland on a family vacation, it was during the time of the Pori Jazz Festival. It was a week-long event, if I am not mistaken, which featured popular guest musicians and bands, and possibly spearheaded and organized by the local government. I’m pretty sure that their guest musicians did a lot of preparation as well, from saxophone maintenance to band practices, just to make everything sound great for their fans.

During the said music festival, concerts and shows were held in different settings and venues within the city. It was cool that they had an open-air concert with jazz musicians playing on stage while guests and visitors were all around the place – some were part of the audience while others (like us) were simply strolling and hopping from one booth to another in search of souvenirs.
