Whenever there is a gathering to be held at home, whether it’s just a get-together of friends, a birthday celebration, or any other occasion, it is natural for us to clean up, spruce up our place, and to decorate it even just a bit. This is the time to get the priced plates, spoons and forks out from the storage shelves and containers for the party.

Here at home, we have a round table with a glass top, and putting on a table cloth is just the usual thing that we do during these special occasions. Oftentimes, some creative ideas would come up. For instance, I would put on a large handcrafted shawl over the table cloth as a runner. It looks pretty good actually. I have not tried using a burlap runner yet, or maybe that native Indonesian cloth I’m using as wall décor will do. But I’m sure experimenting with different styles, colors and textures of cloth can do wonders and brighten up the dining table.
