Being a blessing and a gift to others

Being a blessing and a gift to others

No matter what our talents, skills and resources are, big or small, we are always given the opportunity to share them with others. It is quite inspiring when we see somebody starting a fundraising project to help less fortunate kids in school or organizing a group outreach in the rural areas.

One of my friends did her own small way of making a difference in the lives of others, with her project of donating pencils and pens for school kids by asking for contributions from friends. It is now a recurring project and well-participated by her friends in some parts of the country. The success of her project is just one of those proofs that one doesn’t need big resources to help others, all it takes is just the passion and willingness to share.

Another way to help others is to join community outreach programs such as Sing for Hope, a New York non profit organization. They already have a system for their arts activism projects – the Art U! Youth Outreach program, the Healing Arts Hospital Outreach program and Community Arts program. They have donor artists offering their time and talent in music and the arts.

Community outreach programs create awareness for humanitarian causes and encourages involvement in community projects and fund raising activities. It’s one way for talented individuals to be a blessing and a gift to others.
